The Krka National Park continues its successful cooperation with local fire departments to prepare for the summer period, when the risk of fire is greatest.

As part of the preparations, a working meeting was held with representatives of the voluntary fire departments of Skradin, Dubravice, Sv. Juraj, Ervenik, Promina, and Drniš, as well as the public fire departments of Knin and Šibenik. The participants signed a cooperation agreement, exchanged experiences, and agreed on activities related to the upcoming season.

It was emphasized that the preparations had been carried out thoroughly, with a focus on the coordination and operational readiness of all services involved. Thanks to such an approach, major damages have been avoided in the past few years, and the natural features of the Park have been preserved.

Fire routes are in place and ready for use, enabling quick and efficient firefighting operations throughout the Park. Special thanks must be extended to the firefighters for their dedication and professionalism, which have been crucial for timely responses.

The early fire detection system has also been improved by installing a fire alarm camera at Lozovac, which allows for rapid intervention if necessary.

The fire protection system in the Park has been continuously developed through annual plans and programs, which include terrain maintenance, vegetation clearing, trail maintenance, and the organization of a monitoring and alert service during periods of increased fire danger.

The Krka National Park will continue to take care of the safety of visitors, in addition to protecting nature, and has therefore cultivated a strong partnership with fire departments as a key factor in protecting the valuable space for which it is responsible.

We wish the members of all fire departments a successful, safe, and peaceful season.
