During an educational walk, nature guards of the Krka National Park introduced young Junior Rangers to the specific features of their work tasks.
The Roški slap waterfall – Dračevica – Laškovica trail, 3.3 km long, proved to be a perfect training ground for acquiring new knowledge about nature and its active protection and preservation. Young nature rangers of the Krka National Park with their mentors – actual nature rangers of the Krka National Park – spent Saturday morning, 21 March, the day after the official (astronomic) beginning of spring, exploring the natural features on the right bank of the Krka River near the Roški slap waterfall. The time was ideal for such an activity.
Tijekom edukativne šetnje čuvari prirode govorili su o prirodnim značajkama lokaliteta Roški slap i o njegovim kulturnopovijesnim vrijednostima. Roški slap izuzetno je zanimljiv ne samo zbog bogatstva vrsta koje tu obitavaju, već i zbog povijesnog i kulturološkog konteksta: najstariji tragovi čovjekova života pronađeni su upravo na tom prostoru, u Oziđanoj pećini, smještenoj neposredno iznad slapa.
"During our education about reptiles and amphibians, last year we visited Oziđana pećina cave, after which we went down the wooden stairs all the way to the Roški slap waterfall. Today, we used a drone to see how cool those more than six hundred steps laid out against the rock look, so we wondered how a person who lived in Oziđana pećina cave eight thousand years ago could have climbed down to get to the water," said the young nature guards of the Krka National Park and stated: "This was a great experience. The tasks of the nature guards in the Krka National Park are very interesting, every day they have a different mission and they never know what nature will surprise them with."
Iskusni čuvari prirode mladima su prenijeli svoja saznanja iz svakodnevnih obilazaka Parka, govorili im o vrstama na koje su putem naišli i pritom ih podsjetili na to da moraju paziti na pravila ponašanja u zaštićenom području. Osim golim okom, čuvari su tijekom nadzora okolno područje promatrali kroz dvogled i uz pomoć bespilotne letjelice. Snimljene kadrove potom su analizirali u multimedijalnoj dvorani Centra kretanja u Laškovici. Snimke fotozamki posebno su oduševile mlade Junior Rangere Nacionalnog parka Krka, a videonadzor pomoću bespilotne letjelice pokazao je lokalitet Roški slap iz potpuno nove perspektive. Pogled iz zraka na predindustrijska postrojenja vodenica, stari rimski most s dvadeset dvama kamenim navojima, hidroelektranu i razigrano slapište Ogrlice posve je promijenio ukupni doživljaj toga prostora.
Spring invites us to spend more time in nature, and the Junior Rangers will connect regular outdoor activities with acquiring new knowledge about nature and the environment.
