Museum Night 2026 at the Krka Eco Campus in Puljane

At the suggestion of the Croatian Museum Association, on Friday, January 30, 2026, the 21st Museum Night will be held throughout Croatia – one of the most recognizable national cultural events, which brings museums and heritage preservation institutions closer to the wider audience through abundant educational and entertainment content.

After last year's extremely successful Night of Museums, the Krka National Park is joining the celebration of this event with a special program at the Krka Eco Campus in Puljane. This year's Night of Museums is being held without a set theme, allowing museums and galleries the freedom to choose content in accordance with their own special features and current topics.

The program at the Krka Eco Campus will last from 4 to 10 p.m., with free admission for all visitors. On the occasion of Museum Night, admission will also be free to the Krka Nature Interpretation Center - the Source of Life in Kistanje, which can also be visited from 4 to 10 pm.

The event will begin with an expert guide through the permanent exhibitions of the Burnum Archaeological Collection, the Temple of Nature, and the Nature Laboratory (4 - 6 p.m.). At 6 p.m., numerous children's workshops and playrooms intended for children and parents will begin, which will introduce visitors to topics from ancient history and the natural sciences in a creative and fun way. Among them will be the workshops "Watch Out, Turtles" and "Crowned in Glory – Making a Laurel Wreath", a Roman playroom with ancient board games, themed coloring books, and the workshop "Dancing to Lunch", dedicated to the fascinating world of bees.

A gastronomic corner with refreshmentas will also be provided for visitors (6:30 – 9:00 p.m.).

At 7 p.m., the presentation "From Mill to Power Plant" will be held, with an interesting survey of the history of the use of water power on the upper course of the Krka River, from Roman watermills to hydroelectric power plants that, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, placed the Krka among the first places to use alternating current electricity in both Europe and the world.

From 8:00 to 10:00 p.m., visitors to the Krka Eco Campus will be able to freely explore all the permanent museum exhibitions, including contents adapted for children, especially those in the Nature Laboratory, which encourages curiosity, an exploratory spirit, and active learning.

The Krka National Park invites those interested to join it in celebrating Museum Night in Puljane and to spend an evening filled with knowledge, fun, and discovering the rich natural and cultural heritage of the Krka River.
