On Wednesday, 28 January 2026, the junior nature rangers of the Krka National Park visited the Koštelice kindergartens in Suknovci (Oklaj) and Radost and Ciciban in Knin, thus joining the national initiative of reading to children. In addition to developing a love of reading and imparting new knowledge, the students of the Oklaj Regional School have shown great empathy in connecting with the youngest members of our society, as well as love and care that can serve as a shining example of socially responsible behavior.

In a cheerful and playful environment, the curious little ones listened with special attention to the stories about bees and their role in nature, rewarding our young nature guardians with joyful looks and numerous questions. Each child received a picture book as a gift, so that they could continue their journey towards knowledge and the development of reading skills within their own family.

The reading challenge "15 by 15: All of Croatia reads to children", which is taking place in Croatia from 15 to 29 January 2026, is based on the fact that regular and continuous reading is crucial for a child's development. Fifteen minutes of reading over fifteen days is enough to notice the first positive changes and to make reading a part of everyday life. The Junior Rangers of the Krka National Park and members of the Beekeepers' Association "Drača" of Knin joined this movement with a strong message about the need to protect nature, with an emphasis on pollinators.

Pollinators were the focus of educational workshops in which the Junior Rangers of the Krka National Park participated during 2025. The themes of the celebration of the 41st birthday of the Krka National Park and the 6th Green Eye Festival in January this year were also pollinators and the protection of biodiversity. Being introduced to these "invisible" guardians of biodiversity will continue throughout the year through various educational activities.

We would like to thank the kindergartens for their hospitality, and the the children and the Junior Rangers of the Krka National Park for their selfless love, joy, and contributions to such an important topic!
