Mediteranske povremene lokve, prepoznate kao va\u017eno i ugro\u017eeno stani\u0161te na razini Europske unije, opisane su kao prioritetni stani\u0161ni tip ekolo\u0161ke mre\u017ee. Razvijaju se u sredozemnoj klimi, koju karakteriziraju padaline u hladnijem dijelu godine i ljetna su\u0161a, zbog \u010dega ljeti presu\u0161uju. Te su lokve stani\u0161te vrstama koje se mogu prilagoditi ekstremnim razlikama u vla\u017enosti, pa nastanjuju i poplavljena i sasvim suhih stani\u0161ta. Biljne zajednice karakteristi\u010dne za to stani\u0161te mogu se razviti i na rubovima, odnosno vi\u0161im dijelovima stalnih lokvi, koji su u ki\u0161nom razdoblju poplavljeni, a nakon duljeg su\u0161nog razdoblja suhi.<\/p>\n
Kroz povijest su te lokve kori\u0161tene kao pojila za stoku tijekom cijele godine osim za ljetne su\u0161e. Stoka ih je odr\u017eavala br\u0161tenjem, ispa\u0161om, ga\u017eenjem i izno\u0161enjem blata na dlaci i nogama, a i lokalni stanovnici povremeno su ih \u010distili. Napu\u0161tanjem ekstenzivnog sto\u010darstva i zbog antropogenog utjecaja, lokve su po\u010dele zarastati, zatrpavati se i nestajati.<\/p>\n
Terenskim pregledom Natura2000 podru\u010dja HR2000918 \u0160ire podru\u010dje NP Krka, na njemu je zabilje\u017eeno trideset sedam lokvi, od kojih \u010detrnaest jo\u0161 ima sa\u010duvano stani\u0161te povremenih mediteranskih lokvi. Ve\u0107ina ih je u nekoj fazi zarastanja, bilo vodenom ili pak drvenastom vegetacijom, jedna je uni\u0161tena betoniranjem, a jedna zatrpana otpadnim kamenom.<\/p>\n
To iznimno va\u017eno stani\u0161te treba obnoviti i o\u010duvati, stoga Nacionalni park \u201eKrka\u201c planira zapo\u010deti obnovu lokvi prema predlo\u017eenim smjernicama kako bi se o\u010duvale kao stani\u0161te, a time i njihov karakteristi\u010dni biljni i \u017eivotinjski svijet.<\/p>\n

[en] Mediterranean temporary ponds have been recognized as an important and threatened habitat at the level of the European Union and are described as a priority habitat type of the ecological network. They develop in the Mediterranean climate, which is characterized by precipitation during the colder part of the year and summer droughts. This is why these ponds dry up in the summer and are a habitat for species that are adapted to extreme differences in humidity, from flooded to completely dry. Plant communities characteristic of this habitat can also develop on the edges, or higher parts, of permanent ponds, which are flooded in the rainy season, and dry after a longer period of drought.<\/p>\n Throughout history, they were utilized as watering holes for livestock all year round, except during summer droughts. Livestock maintained them by brushing against them, grazing, trampling, and removing mud on their hair and legs, and the population itself occasionally would clean them. With the abandonment of extensive animal husbandry as well as the anthropogenic influence, the ponds began to grow over, become buried, and disappear.<\/p>\n A field survey of the Natura2000 area HR2000918 in the broader area of the Krka National Park recorded 37 ponds, 14 of which still retained a preserved habitat of temporary Mediterranean ponds.
