Toga je dana 1972. godine u Stockholmu odr\u017eana konferencija Ujedinjenih naroda o ljudskom okoli\u0161u, na kojoj je usvojen Program Ujedinjenih naroda za okoli\u0161 (United Nations Environmental Programme<\/em> (UNEP)). Ujedinjeni u globalnim naporima da smanjimo one\u010di\u0161\u0107enje plastikom, ove godine Svjetski dan za\u0161tite okoli\u0161a obilje\u017eavamo pod sloganom \u201e#BeatPlasticPollution\u201c.<\/p>\n

Tim povodom, JU \u201eNacionalni park Krka\u201c 7. lipnja od 11:00 do 14:00 sati na Ro\u0161kom slapu organizira radionicu recikliranja za sve zainteresirane posjetitelje koji \u0107e mo\u0107i izraditi vre\u0107ice od starog papira i na taj na\u010din pridonijeti smanjenju uporabe onih plasti\u010dnih. Na platou ispred \u0160osterove mlinice bit \u0107e izlo\u017eeni i dje\u010dji radovi izra\u0111eni na ekolo\u0161kim radionicama upotrebom stare plastike.<\/p>\n

Ujedinjeni narodi predla\u017eu da promijenimo sustav kako bismo smanjili one\u010di\u0161\u0107enje plastikom, i to tako da smanjimo uporabu problemati\u010dnih i nepotrebnih plasti\u010dnih predmeta i njihovo tr\u017ei\u0161te transformiramo u kru\u017eno. To \u0107emo posti\u0107i ubrzavanjem triju klju\u010dnih promjena: ponovnom uporabom, recikliranjem te preusmjeravanjem i diversifikacijom. Rije\u010d je o formuli \u201e3R\u201c (Reduce, Reuse <\/em>i Recycle<\/em>), kako se zove i jedna od edukativnih radionica koje Javna ustanova \u201eNacionalni park Krka\u201c provodi s djecom. Radionica je osmi\u0161ljena tako da se na njoj kreativno upotrebljavaju materijali koji se ina\u010de svrstavaju u kategoriju otpada.<\/p>\n

Svake se godine u svijetu proizvede vi\u0161e od \u010detiristo milijuna tona plastike, od \u010dega je polovica namijenjena za jednokratno kori\u0161tenje. Od toga se manje od deset posto reciklira. Procjenjuje se da godi\u0161nje od devetnaest do dvadeset tri milijuna tona plastike zavr\u0161i u jezerima, rijekama i morima. To je otprilike te\u017eina dvije tisu\u0107e i dvjesto Eiffelovih tornjeva. Mikroplastika \u2013 sitne plasti\u010dne \u010destice promjera do 5 mm \u2013 pronalaze svoj put do hrane, vode i zraka. Procjenjuje se da svaka osoba na planetu \u201ekonzumira\u201c vi\u0161e od pedeset tisu\u0107a plasti\u010dnih \u010destica godi\u0161nje \u2013 i mnogo vi\u0161e ako se uzme u obzir i njihovo udisanje.<\/p>\n

Javna ustanova \u201eNacionalni park Krka\u201c ograni\u010dila je uporabu plastike tako \u0161to je u ugovore s koncesionarima ugostiteljskih objekata uvrstila stavku o obvezi zamjene plasti\u010dnog pribora za jelo i pi\u0107e i poslu\u017eivanje hrane ekolo\u0161ki prihvatljivijim.<\/p>\n

Odba\u010dena ili spaljena plastika za jednokratnu upotrebu \u0161teti ljudskom zdravlju i bioraznolikosti i zaga\u0111uje sve ekosustave, od planinskih vrhova do oceanskog dna. S novim znanstvenim spoznajama i tehnolo\u0161kim rje\u0161enjima, vlade, tvrtke i drugi dionici moraju poja\u010dati i ubrzati akcije za rje\u0161avanje ovog ekolo\u0161kog problema.<\/p>\n

\nBeating plastic pollution together<\/strong><\/p>\n

World Environment Day, celebrated on 5 June, is the most important global date for raising awareness on the need to protect the environment<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was on that date in 1972 that the United Nations conference on the human environment was held in Stockholm, and the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) was adopted. Joining together in the global efforts to reduce plastic pollution, this year\u2019s World Environment Day is being held marked under the slogan #BeatPlasticPollution.<\/p>\n

To mark the date, the Public Institute of Krka National Park is holding a recycling workshop at Ro\u0161ki Slap on 7 June from 11 am to 2 pm. All interested visitors are welcome to join in, to make new bags out of old paper, and in doing so to contribute to reducing the use of plastic bags. On the plateau in front of the \u0160oster watermills, there will also be an exhibit of children\u2019s artwork created using old plastic at our ecological workshop.<\/p>\n

The United Nations have proposed that we change our system in order to reduce plastic pollution, by reducing the use of problematic and unnecessary plastic objects and to transform our economy into a circular one. This can be achieved by accelerating three key changes: reduce, reuse and recycle, often called the 3Rs. This is also the title of an educational workshop for children put on by the Public Institute of Krka National Park. The workshop was designed for children to creatively use materials that are usually considered waste.<\/p>\n

Every year, more than 400 million tonnes of plastic are produced around the global, and nearly half this amount is intended for single use. Of this, less than ten percent is recycled.\u00a0It is estimated that each year from 19 to 23 million tonnes of plastic ends up in our lakes, rivers and seas. This is approximately the weight of 2200 Eiffel towers. Microplastics \u2013 tiny plastic particles less than 5 mm in diameter \u2013 are finding their way into our food, water and the air. It has been estimated that every person on the planet \u201cconsumes\u201d more than 50,000 plastic particles each year \u2013 and much more if we consider the quantities that we breathe in from the air.<\/p>\n

The Public Institute of Krka National Park has limited the use of plastics, by including a clause in all concession contracts for hospitality venues in the Park that all plastics for food and drink must be replaced, and food service made more ecological.<\/p>\n

Single-use plastics that are thrown away or burned harm human health and biodiversity, and pollute all ecosystems, from the mountain peaks to the seabed. With the newest scientific findings and technological solutions, governments, companies and other stakeholders must strengthen and accelerate action to resolve this pressing ecological issue.<\/p>\n
