[hr]Stru\u010dna slu\u017eba Javne ustanove \u201eNacionalni park Krka\u201c u suradnji s Hrvatskim vodama i lokalnom zajednicom o\u010distila je lokvu u naselju Ko\u0161tani. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Narodnog naziva Suva\u010da, ova stalna lokva nekad je kori\u0161tena za napajanje stoke, a imala je i va\u017enu dru\u0161tvenu i kulturnu ulogu. Stanovni\u0161tvo je dovo\u0111enjem stoke odr\u017eavalo lokvu u optimalnom stanju. Redovito je va\u0111en natalo\u017eeni mulj, bogat hranjivim tvarima, da bi se koristio kao gnojivo u povrtnjacima.<\/p>\n

Uslijed depopulacije stanovni\u0161tva i prestanka bavljenjem sto\u010darstvom, ali i utjecaja klimatskih promjena, lokva je postupno zarastala, a drvenasta vegetacija prekrila je suhozide u neposrednoj blizini. Talo\u017eenjem mulja smanjila se razina vode, oko lokve se pro\u0161irila invazivna biljna vrsta paspalj, a povr\u0161inu je u potpunosti prekrila vodena le\u0107a, \u0161to je dodatno ubrzalo zarastanje.<\/p>\n

U prvoj fazi \u010di\u0161\u0107enja uklonjena je drvenasta vegetacija, poko\u0161en je prostor oko lokve, te je uklonjen invazivni paspalj. U drugoj fazi oprezno je izva\u0111en i zbrinut vi\u0161ak mulja, a uklonjena je i vodena le\u0107a s povr\u0161ine lokve.<\/p>\n

Kako u okolici nema stanovni\u0161tva koje se bavi sto\u010darstvom, zajedni\u010dkim naporima JU \u201eNP Krka\u201c i lokalne zajednice nastavit \u0107e se odr\u017eavanje lokve redovitom ko\u0161njom. Provedenim \u010di\u0161\u0107enjem zasigurno \u0107e se pove\u0107ati bioraznolikost toga stani\u0161ta. Nadamo se i da \u0107e za stanovnike Ko\u0161tana lokva ponovo dobiti na zna\u010denju, barem simboli\u010dki, jer je nekad bila va\u017ean dio njihove svakodnevice.<\/p>\n

\nCleaning the Suva\u010da pond<\/strong>
\nThe professional staff of the Public Institute of Krka National Park, in cooperation with the firm Hrvatske Vode\/Croatian Water Management, and the local community, cleaned a pond in the Ko\u0161tani settlement. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Popularly called Suva\u010da, this year-round pond was once used to water livestock, and it also played an important social and cultural role. The population kept the pond in optimal condition by bringing in livestock to drink. The accumulated sludge, rich in nutrients, was regularly removed and used as a fertiliser in vegetable gardens.<\/p>\n

Due to the depopulation of the inhabitants and the cessation of livestock farming, as well as the impact of climate change, the pond gradually became overgrown, and woody vegetation covered the dry-stone walls in the immediate vicinity. The sedimentation of the silt reduced the water level, the invasive plant species of paspalum spread around the pond, and the surface was completely covered with duckweed, which further accelerated the overgrown state.<\/p>\n

In the first phase of cleaning, the woody vegetation was removed and the area around the puddle was mowed, and the invasive paspalum grass was removed. In the second phase, the excess sludge was carefully removed and disposed of, and the duckweed was removed from the surface of the pond.<\/p>\n

Since there are no longer livestock farmers in the vicinity, through the joint efforts of the Krka National Park and the local community, the pond will continue to be maintained through regular mowing. The cleaning carried out will certainly increase the biodiversity of the habitat, and we hope that the pond will once again become an important social point for the residents of Ko\u0161tani.<\/p>\n
