U\u0161li smo u posljednji tjedan glasanja za Europsko stablo godine 2024. Glasovanje zavr\u0161ava 22. velja\u010de, a do tada joj mo\u017eete dati svoj glas na poveznici<\/a>. Pobjedni\u010dko stablo bit \u0107e progla\u0161eno 20. o\u017eujka na sve\u010danosti u Europskom parlamentu u Bruxellesu. Svima koji su do sada glasali ili \u0107e to tek u\u010diniti, od srca zahvaljujemo. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Zelena dama<\/em> iz Nacionalnog parka \u201eKrka\u201c natje\u010de se u posebnom i zanimljivom dru\u0161tvu. Uz nju tu je jo\u0161 \u010detrnaest stabala iz cijele Europe, od kojih su neka, poput talijanske masline Luras, stara vi\u0161e od tisu\u0107u godina. Tu su jo\u0161 i Hrast koji pamti obitelj P\u00e1lffy iz Slova\u010dke, portugalska Camellija, Hrast Ka\u0146epju iz Latvije, Stablo patrijarha Litve, Drvo kru\u0161ke usred polja iz \u010ce\u0161ke, Cedar belgijskog koled\u017ea Sainte-Marie, Srce vrta iz Poljske, Milenijski hrast iz Ukrajine, \u0160panjolski hrast La Vega, jo\u0161 jedan hrast, Viiraltov hrast iz Estonije, Pla\u010du\u0107a bukva iz Bayeuxa u Francuskoj, Maria limun iz Nizozemske, te pitomi kesten iz Wrexham’s Acton parka u Velikoj Britaniji. Sva ta stabla pri\u010daju svoju dugogodi\u0161nju pri\u010du, \u0161to je i smisao natjecanja. Cilj je natjecanja ukazati na povezanost stabala i lokalne zajednice i njihovu duboku ukorijenjenost u \u017eivote i obi\u010daje ljudi.<\/p>\n

Me\u0111unarodno natjecanje Stablo godine odr\u017eano je prvi put 2011. Inspirirano je popularnim festivalom Stabla godine, koji u \u010ce\u0161koj Republici ve\u0107 godinama organizira \u010ce\u0161ka udruga za za\u0161titu okoli\u0161a.<\/p>\n

Svake godine natjecanju se priklju\u010duju stotine tisu\u0107a glasa\u010da diljem Europe, a i \u0161ire. Republika Hrvatska natjecanju se priklju\u010dila 2017. kada je prihva\u0107ena kandidatura Javne ustanove za upravljanje za\u0161ti\u0107enim dijelovima prirode Dubrova\u010dko-neretvanske \u017eupanije za nacionalnog koordinatora natjecanja uime Republike Hrvatske. Time je, u partnerstvu s Fakultetom \u0161umarstva i drvne tehnologije Sveu\u010dili\u0161ta u Zagrebu, Hrvatskim \u0161umama d.o.o. i Hrvatskim agrometeorolo\u0161kim dru\u0161tvom, ta javna ustanova postala organizatorom nacionalnog natjecanja Hrvatsko stablo godine.<\/p>\n

Dosada\u0161nji hrvatski predstavnici na europskom natjecanju za stablo godine bili su azijska platana na trgu u Trstenom, s osvojenim 7. mjestom 2018. godine, gup\u010deva lipa iz Gornje Stubice, s osvojenim 11. mjestom 2019. godine, zaljubljeni ginko iz Daruvara, s osvojenim 2. mjestom 2020. godine, ko\u0161\u0107ela \u2013 najstarija Medulinka \u010cokoladno stablo na\u0161ih uspomena, s osvojenim 10. mjestom 2021., mamutovac \u2013 stoljetni div u srcu Slavonije, s osvojenim 11. mjestom 2022., i hrast lu\u017enjak iz Dre\u017eni\u010dkog polja s osvojenim 16. mjestom 2023. godine.<\/p>\n

\nWe have entered into the final week of voting for the 2024 European Tree of the Year competition. Voting ends on 22 February, and until then you can cast your vote at the link<\/a>. The winning tree will be proclaimed on 20 March at a ceremony at the European Parliament in Brussels. For all those who have voted or are about to, we thank you.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Green Lady <\/em>of Krka National Park is competing in exceptionally interesting company. Also running for the title are 14 trees from throughout Europe, some of which, like the Italian Olive Tree of Luras, are more than a thousand years old. Other candidates are the Oak that Remembers the Palffy Family (Slovakia), Camellia (Portugal), Kanepju Oak (Latvia), Patriarch Tree (Lithuania), Pear Tree in the Middle of a Field (Czech Republic), Cedar of College Sainte-Marie (Belgium), Heart of the Garden (Poland), Millennial Oak (Ukraine), La Vega Oak (Spain), Viiralt\u2019s Oak (Estonia), Weeping Birch of Bayeaux (France), Maria\u2019s Lemon Tree (Netherlands), and Sweet Chestnut from Wrexham\u2019s Acton Park (Great Britain). All these trees are telling their long stories, as this is the essence of the competition. The goal of the competition is to show the connections between trees and the local community, and their deep-rootedness in the lives and customs of people.<\/p>\n

The international Tree of the Year competition was first held in 2011, inspired by the popular Tree of the Year festival held for years before in Czech Republic, organised by the Czech Environmental Protection Association.<\/p>\n

Every year, hundreds of thousands of voters across Europe and beyond vote for their favourites. The Republic of Croatia joined the competition in 2017, when the candidacy was accepted of the Public Institution for the Management of Protected Natural Values of Dubrovnik-Neretva County to be the national coordinator of the competition on behalf of the Republic of Croatia. In partnership with the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, University of Zagreb, the company Croatian Forests, and the Croatian Agrometeorological Society, this public institution became the organiser of the national competition, Croatia\u2019s Tree of the Year.<\/p>\n

Previous trees representing Croatia at the European Tree of the Year competition were the Asian Plane Tree on the Square in Trsteno (took 7th<\/sup> place in 2018), Gubec\u2019s Linden Tree from Gornja Stubica (11th<\/sup> place in 2019), Ginkgo in Love from Daruvar (2nd<\/sup> place in 2020), Hackberry \u2013 the Oldest Chocolate Tree of Our Memories of Medulin (10th place in 2021), Mamutovac \u2013 Century\u2019s old Giant in the Heart of Slavonia (11th place in 2022), and the Pedunculate Oak from Dre\u017eni\u010dko Polje (16th place in 2023).<\/p>\n
