On the occasion of World Forest Day, the Krka National Park is organizing a Forest Workshop, intended for children aged seven to ten, and is inviting interested parties to register and participate<\/strong><\/p>\n

The workshop will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 10:30 am at the Skradinski buk waterfall, and participants will gather at the Lozovac entrance. Entrance to the Park will be free for workshop participants, while participating children must be accompanied by at least one parent.<\/p>\n

The workshop program is designed for children who can read and write, and includes nature exploration, play, and creative activities to stimulate their curiosity, the acquisition of new knowledge, and a sense of connection with the environment. The number of places in the workshop is limited, so you must register in advance via the online form: https:\/\/forms.gle\/WGwsDy2LQcUgW7Zv8.<\/p>\n

By marking World Forest Day, the Krka National Park aims to remind members of the younger generation of the importance of nature protection, and encourage them to adopt a responsible attitude towards the environment. Such activities contribute to a better understanding of the role of forests in preserving a healthy ecosystem, which is the foundation for the quality of life of current and future generations.<\/p>\n

The World Forest Day is celebrated on the 21st of March, and this year's theme, \"Forests and the Economy\", highlights the importance of forests for sustainable development and the well-being of society. Forests are the most complex terrestrial ecosystems: they cover about 31% of the Earth's surface and preserve more than 80% of the world's biodiversity. In addition to mitigating climate change, the forests improve air and water quality, and also protect the soil, all of which has a direct positive impact on human health.<\/p>\n

The area of the Krka National Park is particularly notable for its wealth of forest communities, located at the transition between the Mediterranean and sub-Mediterranean vegetation types, which further emphasizes the importance of preserving this unique natural area.<\/p>\n
