Nakon skoro mjesec dana brige i veterinarske skrbi, koja je na kraju urodila plodom, \u010dan\u010dara je sretno vra\u0107ena u svoje prirodno stani\u0161te, gdje je po\u010dela novi \u017eivot sa simboli\u010dnim imenom \u2013 Fenix Krke.<\/p>\n<p>Kornja\u010da je u prirodu vra\u0107ena izlije\u010dena, ali malo izmijenjena izgleda: karakteristi\u010dne maslinaste boje svoga oklopa zamijenila je Krkinim plavim. Naime, takve je boje dentalni materijal kojim je ponovno spojen kornja\u010din oklop, koji je najvjerojatnije stradao kad je na nju naletjelo motorno vozilo. Zato apeliramo na posjetitelje i lokalno stanovni\u0161tvo da, ako u prirodi nai\u0111u na Fenixa Krke, ne poku\u0161avaju oprati njegov oklop jer je on njegova za\u0161tita, a kad ga sretnemo mo\u0107i \u0107emo ga prepoznati po njegovoj plavoj boji. Stoga pozivamo sve koji ga u prolje\u0107e zapaze u prirodi da ga fotografiraju i jave se u Nacionalni park \u201eKrka\u201c, koji \u0107e ih simboli\u010dno nagraditi.<\/p>\n<p>\u017delimo zahvaliti osoblju veterinarske ambulante More, koje je, svojom stru\u010dno\u0161\u0107u i predano\u0161\u0107u, kornja\u010du zaista vratilo u \u017eivot, s obzirom na jako te\u0161ko stanje u kojem se nalazila kad je kod njih donesena. Neka to bude motiv svima onima koji na\u0111u ozlije\u0111enu \u017eivotinju da reagiraju i pomognu joj, kako bi dobila priliku da se oporavi i vrati u prirodu, jer je i to jedan od na\u010dina na koji se doprinosi o\u010duvanju bioraznolikosti.<\/p>\n<p>Obi\u010dna \u010dan\u010dara (<em>Testudo hermanni<\/em>) za\u0161ti\u0107ena je kopnena kornja\u010da u Hrvatskoj, poznata po dugovje\u010dnosti i uspje\u0161noj prilagodbi mediteranskoj klimi. Njezin oklop, koji je spojen s kralje\u017enicom, \u0161titi je od predatora jer se mo\u017ee uvu\u0107i u njega kada je ugro\u017eena. Iako \u010dan\u010dara nema mnogo prirodnih neprijatelja, najvi\u0161e stradaju mlade jedinke, koje napadaju ptice grabljivice, \u0161takori i lisice. Odrasle kornja\u010de naj\u010de\u0161\u0107e nastradaju zbog ljudskih aktivnosti, kao \u0161to su promet i uporaba vrtnog alata. \u010can\u010dara u divljini prosje\u010dno \u017eivi od \u010detrdeset do \u0161ezdeset godina, a u zoolo\u0161kim vrtovima ima primjeraka starih sto godina.<\/p>\n<p>\u010can\u010dara je ugro\u017eena zbog gubitka prirodnog stani\u0161ta i ilegalnog uzimanja iz divljine. Vrsta je zakonom strogo za\u0161ti\u0107ena: ne smije se dirati bez dozvole nadle\u017enog ministarstva, a kazne za krivolov su velike. As soon as they realized that the turtle was injured, the director took it to the vet. After almost a month of care and veterinary treatment, which eventually bore fruit, the turtle was happily returned to its natural habitat, where it began a new life with the symbolic name \u2013 the Phoenix of the \u200b\u200bKrka.<\/p>\n<p>The turtle was returned to nature cured, but with a slightly changed appearance: the characteristic olive color of its shell was replaced with the blue of the Krka River. This was the color of the dental material used to rejoin the turtle&#8217;s shell, which most likely was injured when a motor vehicle ran into it. Hence we would like to appeal to visitors and local residents that, if they come across the Phoenix of the \u200b\u200bKrka in nature, do not try to wash his shell because it is his protection, and alsowhen someone sees him they will be able to recognize him by his blue color. Therefore, we invite everyone who notices him in nature in the spring to take a photo of him and report it to the Krka National Park, which will reward them symbolically.<\/p>\n<p>We would like to thank the staff of the More Veterinary Clinic, who, with their expertise and dedication, really brought the turtle back to life, given the very difficult condition it was in when it was brought to them. Let this be a motive for all those who find an injured animal to react and help it, so that it gets a chance to recover and return to nature, because this is also one of the ways to contribute to the preservation of biodiversity.<\/p>\n<p>Hermann&#8217;s tortoise or the common chancar turtle (<em>Testudo hermanni<\/em>) is a protected land turtle in Croatia, known for its longevity and successful adaptation to the Mediterranean climate. its carapace or shell, which is connected to its spine, protects it from predators as the turtle can withdraw into it when threatened. Although the tortoise does not have many natural enemies, young individuals suffer the most, as they can be attacked by birds of prey, rats, and foxes. Adult turtles are most often killed by human activities, such as traffic and the use of garden tools. The Hermann&#8217;s tortoise lives on average from forty to sixty years in the wild, and there are hundred-year-old specimens in zoos.<\/p>\n<p>These tortoises are endangered due to the loss of their natural habitat and illegal removal from the wild. The species is strictly protected by law: it may not be touched without the permission of the relevant ministry, and the penalties for poaching are high.
