World-famous travelers have always visited the banks of the Krka River<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1875, as part of their journey through Dalmatia, the Austrian Emperor and Croatian-Hungarian and Czech King Franz Joseph I and his wife Elizabeth of Bavaria visited \u0160ibenik, Skradin, and the Skradinski buk waterfall. The emperor and empress admired the beauty of Skradinski buk from a place that today, in their honor, we call the \u201cImperial Lookout\u201d. Emperor Franz Joseph I also visited the highest waterfall on the Krka River, Manojlovac waterfall, considered by many to be its most beautiful waterfall, located only a few hundred meters from the archaeological site of Burnum. A path leads to the waterfall with a lookout point, where a memorial plaque was erected in memory of the Emperor\u2019s visit, at the spot where he and his wife Elizabeth enjoyed the view of the waterfall. Below a bronze cast of the Emperor\u2019s image is the inscription: \u201cHis Majesty the Emperor and King Franz Joseph I passed by here, having seen Manojlovac.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Krka River was visited and written about by numerous other famous travelers, and it was even mentioned by Roman historians under the name Titius. The famous travel writer Alberto Fortis visited the source and banks of the Krka River and described it all vividly and in detail in his famous work A Journey Through Dalmatia, published in 1774. Skradinski buk and the island of Visovac were visited by the famous Egyptologist Sir John Gardner Wilkinson in 1844. Skradin was visited in 1850 by one of the world\u2019s greatest travelers and travel writers, the German Johann Georg Kohl, and in 1857 by the Prussian baroness and writer Ida von Reinsberg-D\u00fcringsfeld. The famous English writer George Bernard Shaw visited Skradinski buk in 1929 and left a striking testimony about it, almost a love letter to the Krka River.<\/p>\n

In recent times, the Krka National Park has also been visited by members of various royal families, such as Prince Albert and Princess Caroline of Monaco, the King and Queen of Jordan, and the Prince and Princess of Denmark. It has also been visited by numerous people from the world of film, fashion, music, and sports, most often in strict privacy: Bill Gates, Gwyneth Paltrow, Valentino, Jon Bon Jovi, Eva Longoria, Michael Caine, Quincy Jones, Chris Tucker, John William Ferrell, Rod Stewart, Lily Allen, Magic Johnson, Roger Federer, and Venus Williams, and it was also visisted by the American rock group The Kings of Leon. They were all delighted by the Krka, its natural splendor, and cultural heritage, and they toured it accompanied by our guides, absorbing unforgettable impressions, which confirms that the Krka has always been a place where true world-class greats can find peace, beauty, and inspiration.<\/p>\n
